If any of you guys come across a Enforcer Carbine, I would be interested. I am looking for a legal factory made Enforcer Carbine Pistol. When I was in the Army, serving in Vietnam,I carried a modified M2 Carbine and would like to make a Clone of it for my den wall, with my other Army stuff from 22 years service. A Enforcer, with a modified M1 Carbine stock would be perfect. This is what I carried in a custom pivot holster as a backup gun.

The condition of the Enforcer, or even if it has no stock is not important, since I will have to use a M1 Carbine stock anyway. Plus on a tight budget.

I believe my local gun store has one. I'm In Orlando, FL. I can check if they still have it and give you their name.

Very interesting photo you have posted. That's the first cut-down M2 Carbine I have ever seen in actual use; never knew that they were used like that in Vietnam.

That was not my issued weapon. I was assigned a M14A1E1 with a selector and bi pod. It was great in open areas, but not in the bush. This M2 was cut down prior to me getting it and the pivot holster. I traded a case of steaks I snatched off the back of a 2 1/2 for it with several magazines and a full case of ammo. It had most likely been transfer to the Vietnamese Army, and then found from one of them dropping it as they ran off. I used it for close up stuff where the 14 was just not as maneuverable. It was a Sweet Gun.

I never had much luck with prior "Enforcer " carbine pistols, and I had a few. I would imagine the gas port would take some fiddling to work properly - at least ! FWIW although I too wore that uniform with no rank and Mach V patch when assigned to 3rd BDE 101st in 1969 I never saw any sawed off carbines , a few para carbines , a few Swedish Ks, Grease guns and even Thompsons and Mat 49s tho . Also some odd Australian and NZ guns and weird supressed S&W 9mms and S&W model 29s and Hs HD .22 pistols..

Looks like a wicked little gun.

I've heard the new Inlands are not very reliable though. Lots of problems with them.

Sent my carbine back two or three times because it wouldn't cycle well and it still won't feed from a full mag. It does okay if I only load 9 or 10 rounds into a 15 round magazine. I still thinks it's their crappy magazines. I need to get a good GI mag and see how it does. I can't recommend Inland Mfg to anybody right now.

Charles Firearms 207-741-2655 in Maine has a Universal 12" barrel enforcer carbine listed for $595. See his current ad in Gun Digest (he is a regular advertiser) but I have personally never dealt with him. Good luck.

Well, Welcome Home Brother. I was with 101 1st Bde in 66 down in Phan Thiet, (near Phan Rang), then 5th Group up country till Fall 67. This came from some Arvin or S Korean White Horse best I can remember. I traded a case of steaks for it, and got several full 30 round magazines, and a full case of ammo with it. I ended up trading it to a slick Pilot to expedite me down south to catch my flight home.

Bear in mind that the Universals have a lot of non-standard parts (I think depending on when they were made), so aren't the same as military M1s, if that matters.

Might want to read up on reviews of both the Inlands and the Universal to see the word on the street.

Not to compromise your vision, but if this is meant to be a wall-hanger have you considered a non-firing replica M1 Carbine? Those can be had for like $200 or so, and that way you can hang it wherever without any worries that a thief might use it for ill, or kid mess with it or anything.

Heck, you could even get a firing one to keep in your safe and a non-firing one to hang on the wall. :D

Mathew, If I can not find a cheap usable one, a non firing replica may be an option. Thanks

First off, Thank you for your service! That is a very cool picture. I have only recently learn about the cut down M1 Carbines used in Viet Nam. I hope you are successful with your project and post some pictures when you are done.

Its a pistol and not rifle

I was a HUGE fan of all carbine / rifle caliber handguns for a long time [ worked on an armored truck for a few years ].

The Carbine model was the only one I did not possess.

They are a pistol under all laws, but guess you can get a class III for it as a SBR etc.
