...

Where to start..

Perfect balance, mid-lightweight gun in the 1911 format..

Grip is full size, meaning, single stack magazines that hold 9+1

Comes with 3 magazines that work great right out of the box and are "easy to fully load from the get-go..

Comes with real Night Sights for 24/7 aprox: 8yrs of pure, easy to see at night, glow-green sights.

Dependable, reliable, easy to disassemble, inspect, clean, and reassemble.

A great, out of the box SAO crisp, breaking, trigger pull every-time..

Easy for ccw carry, both in small size and mid-light weight, again, that makes for such a great balanced, point and aim, shooter with tame, balanced, recoil.

VERY accurate up close, or at distance, 63ft max at my indoor range..

Lifetime warranty from Springfield Armory.. great people if ya have to use them.

Great weak hand, or one hand, shooter as well..

What's not to like except they cost bit more, but IMHO, worth every 1200, and still going, flawless, rounds, so far, without any failures..

And it comes with, as seen above, great coco bolo wood grips, but one can put Crimson Trace Laser grips on them if desired, or many other grip choices.

And the OP's title says it all.. what new 9mm "is fun" to shoot?"

The joy happens every shot with, at first, this look , then when you become a believer, then this look, always.. :)

Para-Ord 18.9 LDA LTD. You'll love the trigger and the accuracy will surprise you.

The most fun 9mm I own is a full size 1911. I own a Kimber, and it has been a great shooter. I think if I were to do it again, it would be the STI.

If you are looking for a great carry 9mm, one of the P7's is hard to beat.

P7

Pricey, yes. But just think of all the cash you'll save on targets by getting the rounds to go through the same hole.

One of my favorite 9mm's to shoot is a Walther P1-P38. It's comfortable, light recoil and I just like the looks of it. Next would be probably my Kahr K9 which I carry most all of the time.

Not sure about the M&P 9 but I have one in 40 that I absolutly love. It's the only Polymer framed 40 I have sever shot that i liked.

nobody likes the rohrbaugh?
or too expensive well you have the glock 19 that would be my first choice so id go along the lines of pocketcarry kahr pm9 or something there is even a really small keltec

Supposing that you already own a G19, I will recommend you to get a full size, all steel, easy to customise, easy and cheap to find .22 conversion kit range pistol, which the CZ 75 fits the bill IMHO.
Others that do not fit the bill exactly, but might be a viable option are BHP, P226, and another tupperware HK USP.

Regards.

My three favorite 9MM's are;

Browning Hi Power (my most accurate by a small margin)
CZ-75B
HK P7M8 or PSP (most fun to shoot)

If you decide on the G34 don't make the mistake I did and buy the 34. Get the G35 and then buy a conversion barrel. If you decide to shoot in the major's you will not be able to do it with the 34. Good luck, Sammy

Thanks for the suggestions. I still haven't made up my mind. This is the longest I've been able to allow gun money to burn a hole in my pocket. I really want something different from what I own currently or have owned in the past.

I'm still considering the G34. I've looked at the M&P, Kahr and PX4. A HK USP caught my eye this afternoon. I think what I really want is a full sized or commander 1911 in 9mm. They are just pricy and hard to find...

+1 on a HiPower.
It's a 1911 with better balance and higher capacity.
Pick up a Charles Daly if there are any left. Those are a bargain.

I also suggest the Browning Hi Power: the first hi-cap 9mm and still the best. The CZ-75 would be my second choice. I've also heard good things about the FNP.

Good luck with your quest.

I have a BHP which has had some trigger work. Also bought a S&W952-2 and a Les Baer 1911 9mm. They are noticeably better than the BHP for triggers. You should be able to get a Springfield or STI 1911 9mm for under $1,000. Yes, they are pricey, but very nice.

Not what most would call your typical handgun but if you want something different. Look at the DSA Brugger & Thomet TP9. I have 2 of them and feel there a very fun accurate and reliable. They will not meet the box test for pistol matches but is accurate enough to compete.

Just one mans different point of view.

Remember:
Plan for the worst, Hope for the best and if you land on your feet running life is good!

a Glock 26 or maybe a kt P11/Pf9 to round off your collection ..fun(well kinda):D and fuctional ccw
Or..something like this ATI stocked 995 would be  ....
