So I'm in the market for a good reliable 9mm pistol for about $400-$450 range. 9mm I've bought so far, G17, Sig P2009, P226, HK USP9, B92FS, S&W 915 and Ruger P95.
Looking for a compact size, with steel frame with absolutely positively reliable. No 1911 platform please.
What else available besides gun that I already bought?

That CZ looks like a nice gun. My daughter's boy friend is talking about buying one, so I'll get to shoot one soon, hopefully. :D

However, it doesn't look very compact, sawed off, but not compact. If compact is what you want, the Kahr is the only all steel/metal gun that comes to my mind at the moment. It's a very concealable sized gun. I sorta like the CZ better as guns go, but the Kahr is a better sized gun for carry.

Another vote for Kahr K9 &
SW 391_ for slightly larger hands.

Keep in mind that the former is DAO,
where as the latter is not.

If you want an extremely compact steel 9mm, non-1911, I think your best choice is the CZ Rami. I picked a Glock 26 over the Rami for a carry gun because I shoot Glocks better than CZs, but the Rami is such a nice gun I still sort of wish I had one.

S&W 908 or 3913 would be a good bet.You wanted a steel frame but the SIG 239 is an outstanding compact alloy framed pistol. Not a compact but if you have a 9mm collection, you really need to get a Hi Power!

"Good luck finding a Kahr for under $500."

I have seen several nice used K-9 for under $500. It is not that hard to find one. The last SS K-9 I bought I got at a gunshop for $350 + tax and it was almost new. It didn't come with anything but I doubt it was even broke in yet. That is not typical of course but I have seen them for about $400 in good used shape.

They are one of the few guns that are worth every penny even if you have to paty full retail. I don't here too many people that actually own K-9 ever complain that they paid too much. Once you get one, you see where the money goes. Still try to find a used one at a good price and save some green if you can.

Look no further!

He specified a steel frame. The P228 has an aluminum alloy frame.

For the price point, the CZ - PCR would be my choice...although it has an aluminum alloy frame as well...
