Hi guys,

Was wondering if anyone has a load that will put out 1210-1220 fps from a Glock 22 (I have a barrell with fully supported chamber). Im trying to duplicate Speer's 155g GD SD load (1200fps/496ftpds - 4in bbl)

I realize some of the manuals list loads at that velocity but things change with different guns -- what I'm after is a load that someone has actualy chrono'd and uses Unique, Power Pistol, SR 4756, 2400 WW231, Longshot or HS-6 (powders I have).

Thanx a bunch

MODS: I understand some may post HOT loads, and I assume responsibility for using them.

Longshot, according to the data on hodgdons's website, 9.3 grains will deliver 1283 fps, pretty impressive. Although I'd be carefull putting together this load, as its right at the pressure ceiling.

I've got some 155gr Gold Dot's that I've chrono'd, with 9 grains of Longshot, they deliver a solid 1250 fps.

Keep in mind most manufacturers exaggerate their velocities. 1015 fps on a 180 gr is usually 925-990 fps over the chrono. 1150 on 165 gr is more like 1050 to 1080. Dunno about 155 gr ones, but probably similar.

Glock Model 22 with a KKM barrel. Factory Glock barrel will give slightly higher velocities:

150 gr. Nosler JHP, 7.7 gr. WSF, 1232 fps
150 gr. Nosler JHP, 9.0 gr. HS-6, 1197 fps
135 gr. Nosler JHP, 9.7 gr. HS-6, 1274 fps
135 gr. Nosler JHP, 9.0 gr Power Pistol, 1320 fps

i go tone that is straight form the alliant page.
155gr speer gold dot 1.120" OAL 9 gr of power pistol CCI 500 primer is 1,213fps
or
with 11gr of bluedot instead and it is pushing 1,221fps

i haven't tried the power pistol load yet but i do plan on it soon. i have the bullets and i have the powder just waiting on the primers, if you try it let me know how it does.

Power Pistol will probably give you what you're looking for but the flash produced is excessive. I think Longshot will probably be your best choice since it will match the velocity produces by Power Pistol but with less flash.

I have worked up loads to see how much power I can get with a supported chamber in a Glock 22 40sw.

To read the load books, you would think LONGSHOT is great.

In reality....
800X is the top, but hard to meter.
Power Pistol is #2, but makes muzzle flash.
3N37 is the highest that has low muzzle flash.

40sw loads

155 jhp glock20 with 6in wolf barrel

9.3g 800x avg 1465fps with brass looking great. Very pleasant to shoot for such high velocity. The glock is a 10mm with 22lb spring and steel rod.
