Does anyone know of a holster made specifically for this revolver? It is the gun my wife carries in her purse and she wants a holster that has a strap to retain the gun that will work with the hammerless weapon. We have found several that are "almost" right at our local LGS's but none that are perfect.

There are literally thousands online. What type of material are you looking for? Kydex, leather, nylon?

Take a look at the Bianchi line. They have one specifically for "hammerless" revolvers.

The Bianchi that is designed for the hammerless revolver should be the right item. The retention strap crossing over the trigger guard is what she needs. We have tried 4-5 with the normal strap but they do not hold well. The molded plastic is too bulky for the purse. Thanks!

That particular bianchi holster is absolutely worthless. It doesn't cover the trigger. This offers no advantage at all over simply tossing the gun in the purse without a holster.

While the holster does not cover the trigger, I assure you that the cylinder will not move no matter how hard you pull the trigger.

Why is the retention strap so important to your wife? Is the purse she is using designed to carry a pistol? If she insist on carrying off the body, the gun shouldn't just be thrown in a purse. It's going to tough enough to unzip, dig around for the gun, fumble with the retention strap and finally draw the gun. The gun should have a place in the purse that is easily accessible, stable and always in the same place.

There are plenty of companies making cc purses but if your wife is like mine, she may not like them...

as far as hammerless, the dead eye luke kydex offers good retention and covers the trigger, kydex is molded and gun is held in holster by tension on the cylinder and the triggerguard, and won't collapse when reholstering.. about 20-25 bux..

and works well on my 442's, 60,and 36..

can be adjusted for more or less retention with a heat gun.

i still like the bianchi i have for the 60 though for an OWB holster.

It is absolutely amazing how many old time LEO's unenlightened by current dogma managed to blindly muddle through entire careers with those dangerous old holsters and never shot themselves in the butt or hurt anybody else.

Does Coach make a purse with a gun holster?

No they do not, and there lies the problem. According to my wife, all the CCW purses look too "old lady'ish". Now, apparently there is one brand of CCW purse that coach may have helped design but it looks nothing like a coach purse.

Galco has several that may fit the bill. The strap is a waste of time. Get a molded holster or better yet get her a purse that has a holster built in.

Along with the other good suggestions you can also look to Galco Gunleather. They have MANY gun specific holsters and they have a bunch of holster/handbags too.

HERE is the link to the search I did for your revolver. As you will see they have a lot of products.

If you want to go a little more economical try Don Hume.

I don't know about Coach, but my over 21yr old daughter carries a s&w 642 in a rosen pocket holster in her Louis Vuitton monster purse. It obviously is not as good a choice as a handbag made specifically to carry a holster, but I gave up a long time ago trying to dictate fashion to her, and at least she has something she can shoot well close to her, rather than a big 45 left in her car.
