My father has just recently gotten into shooting because of me (woohoo) and hes looking to pick up his own rifle. Hes not really sure what he wants, but he does know he wants a bolt action chambered in 7.62 by 39. Soo what should I look for!

Budget wise, id say 700 bucks tops... the cheaper the better though...

Do they even make 7.62/39 bolt actions?

The CZ 527 Carbine is the only currently produced 7.62x39 bolt gun I'm aware of - http://www.czusa.com/product_detail.php?id=15. Ruger did make the M77 MKII in 7.62x39 for one year. If I remember correctly they were all the all weather synthetic model with green plastic fore end inserts instead of the standard black. There is at least one member here who has rebarreled a Savage to 7.62x39, and rebarreling Savages is not too hard to do. Hopefully that helps.

hmm... thanks... if that's the case I think ill be offering .223 instead, much more variety and bolt actions...

I've got a complete rig, bag, scope, extras, and all accessories , less than 50 rounds fired through it, totally ready to go, if interesed. I am in Texas.
