Looking for a single action revolver

Forgive my ignorance, but I'm not familiar with all the various makes and models of single action revolvers other than the old model Vaquero I already own. Is there a good quality SA made today that has a transfer bar and makes the appropriate four clicks?

Beretta now owns Uberti. Their guns sold under the Uberti brand have traditional hammer-mounted firing pins. Their guns sold under the Beretta name have the 4 clicks, but a transfer bar.

Check CDNN Investments (google it) and either call them or download their latest catalog (FYI: No prices are listed). They usually have a bunch of those Beretta/Ubertis in various calibers.

Do yourself a favor and stick with the Ruger Blackhawk or the Vaquero. Some of the other imports are really good quality revolvers, none of them stack up to the Rugers in both quality and customer service plus aftermarket accessories. Don't forget the Ruget is all American made and to me that means a lot in this fragile economy. Pricing is about the same also. JMHO!

I like the looks of the Blackhawk in .44 Special.
Bad thing is, I already own a Super Blackhawk in .44 Mag.

Since you all ready have a Ruger SA, it makes sense to me to stick with a Ruger. The new mid-frame Rugers are closer in size to the original Colts and are very, very nice.
I have one of the new Lipsey's .44 Spl Blackhawk's and it is fast becoming my favorite revolver. If you can get hold of one, and they are hard to get right now, it would be worth the effort.

I love the durability of my rugers compared to the ubertis I had. I use them for CAS and for me, the ubertis couldn't hold up.

I'm a COLT shooter and my first SA was a Ruger Blackhawk 3 screw. The best value out there is a 100% USA made Ruger, they last, are quality and accurate. I'm am a long ways from being rich, like 5 or 6 figures from that income level but I have a Colt SAA and it is a good value and actually appreciates in value. So if you can afford one get it. It will only be safe to carry with the hammer down on a empty chamber. New Rugers you can carry all 6. Get one if each.

Uh, whatever...

You can still lower the hammer between rounds and then manually spin and lock the cylinder.

Or you can put your thumb between the hammer and the frame when you release the hammer.

This takes more finesse than a New Model Ruger, to be sure, and watch where it's pointed. But it can most certainly be done.

But why is it that people are telling the OP to buy a Ruger again?

I like Ruger single actions. I like being able to load 6 very safely. I'm unlikely to look at anything but Rugers right now, for the reasons above (no particular interest in 3-screws, either).

Have to agree with ArmedBear. But I am dying to ask, why do you want a transfer bar and four clicks? Four clicks is pure nostalgia (I know - it bit me too), and that flat nosed no-firing pin hammer says pure modern.
