You have to also remember that trajectory and wind drift is all bullet specific. A 50 grain soft point flat base bullet it a totally different deal than a 73 grain eld.
With any of the above, assuming you have a solid position, yes. From a bipod, bag, or front rest, with a rear bag, I can spot my hits with any of the cartridges we’ve discussed. With my 300wm and Wsm, or 30-06, without the brake, I usually cannot, but with the brake, I usually can. Firing from a fence rail, it’s rare with the more powerful rifles, but with 7-08 and down, I usually can spot my impacts.
Also depends on the support. Offhand with a 22LR, yeah, usually I can spot. Offhand with a 223, yeah, usually. Offhand with a 30-06? No way.
