First off I know everyone will say just try different brands, weights, rounds, etc. until you find what works. Ideally that would be best but I am just trying to narrow the field based off of others experiences with this caliber and rifles with these twist rates. I have 2 AR's with 16 inch barrels. One is a Sig 556 Swat with a 1:7 twist and the other is a RRA with a 1:9 twist. I know I may have to make some sacrifices in one area or another but here is what I am looking for. A 5.56/.223 round to use in both of them as a DEFENSIVE load, while retaining good ACCURACY. I have heard the Hornady TAP 75gr. would be good for the Sig but may have deminished accuracy in the RRA. I am also considering the Black Hills 68gr. MHP round as well but have not tried it. I am of course open to other rounds and suggestions. Looking for opinions and advice, thanks.

For those 2 rifles, my opinion would be the 68gr Black Hills. I have used it and it works fine in all my AR's.

Even in a 1:9 barrel that doesn't like the 75gr Hornady, you will still get 4-5" groups at 100yds which is adequate for most defensive use.
