Yet another question on the Sport....

Barrel is 5.56 NATO - 1/9 Twist

So I know it will take both but will .223 place less "stress" overall vs the 5.56 rounds ? I am asking based on this

***While the 5.56x45mm NATO will fit in a .223 Remington chamber, the 5.56 is a military round that runs at higher pressures than its .223 counterpart and is not recommended to be fired in a .223 Remington chamber.***

Which sort of tells me the .223 is going to put less pressure on the rifle in general, yes ?

Yes, lighter ammo will cause less stress....but in reality, you won't notice the difference. If you can afford enough ammo and time to wear it out, then you can afford a new rifle.

lol....

That's a good way to look at it... I already have more ammo than the rifle cost...and have maybe 500 rounds or so through it...not even broken in I guess...:D

The Sport is one heck of a rifle for the money! I have 15 or16 AR's all of which cost two or three times the S&W but my sport has been gobbling my reloads by the hundreds lately while the others stay home and look nice. I shoot either .223 or 5.56 in everything without a worry but I totally avoid steel Commie ammo...just my preference.
