I am looking for a semi auto MP5 clone wether it shoots 9mm or .22LR (would be better). anyone know where i might be able to find one??

i would love to have a real MP5 but can no way afford it.

I have found AK 47 and M16 copies that shoot .22LR. that will do unless someone knows of an MP5 copy.

Thanks
Jeremy

HK94 is the semi-auto version, which you probably already know. Not cheap by a long shot.
If you want the length of a real MP5, it would have to be registered as an SBR.

I am not aware of any clones in .22.

How about an Airsoft version?

Back in the 80's HK imported a semi-auto version of the stockless MP5K, they called it the SP89. There are a few floating around out there, but they cost around $2,000.

S&W has also made a semi auto version of the MP5K, but you can't legally attach the foregrip to it.

They're neat looking, but really won't do any thing that a service-sized or full-sized 9mm pistol can't do.

As for a .22 version, about the closest you'll get is a Tec 22, from the same people that brought you the low-quality Tec 9.

I kind of like that RAV 22. but i think i will just get myself an Armscor MAK22. all those are a bit out of my price range as of now. thanks for all the input.

As Schuey said, try J. Cotter at IGF. I am highly pleased with the G3k build he did for me and everyone over at HK91.com has been pleased with his SW5 buildups.

The advantage to having one built is being able to customize it, of course. Get the mag paddle installed, definately. Have him build it with the E&L barrel shroud for that MP5SD look (to hide 16" of barrel).

Another vote for Jason at IGF. He's honest and does excellent work.

Check with FAC for receivers and parts kits.

Here's a link for FAC: http://www.gunsnstuff.net/

I have seen and heard great stuff about Jayson from IGF. He can also install a paddle mag release and remark it to say MP5. I think it'd be better to get it done right the first time around with quality work.

Also, you can get POF magazines for about $40 dollars each. I have heard these are reliable and made on HK licensed machinery.

Black92lx,

I was just in Franklin Gun Shop in Franklin, TN today and they had an SP89 behind the counter. I don't recall the exact price, but IIRC, it was somewhere in the $2K neighborhood, maybe just south of it. Here's a link to their website:
