Ok I've been looking online for low cost ammo for a year now, Winchester brand in partictal.

A few things. 9mm and .22 at least I can get cheaper at Walmart then online. Even remanufactered ammo cost more online then Winchester does at Walmart.

Even when I find a deal on 1000 rounds I would only save $20 and then I have to make sure I'm home to sign for it.

Looks like I'm going to be reloading for awhile and buying ammo at Walmart.

Geeze.

So what you are saying seems to be you have already found a cheap source of ammo, which is Walmart. You may find ammo cheaper on the Internet but, you always have to pay for shipping and, yes you need to sign for it. Thing is if they ship it UPS you do not need to be home to receive it, I have often had them hold a parcel for me at the counter (my local UPS is very close to my home).

A few suggestions for good bargains on ammo are:

Sportsmansguide.com often has great deals on 9mm ammo. Keep checking with them as their deals change frequently.

http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ctd/default.asp also often has good bargains.

http://www.natchezss.com/index.cfm another good place to price shop.

If you are just shopping price and, if you are willing to accept something other than Winchester - they have Wolf Brand 9mm at $4.45 per box of 50. That ads up to $89.00 per 1,000 rounds. A pretty fair price. They also have some other really inexpensive stuff.

There is also a chance you could get a great deal on a case of Winchester 9mm at a local gun show.

Don't forget OutdoorMarksman.com -- look at the Miwall Reloads. I've been extremely satisifed with their stuff. It's consistent, reliable, and cheaper than Wolf. Mixed (usually Winchester) brass with Winchester primers and powder topped by a Remington bullet. Good stuff, really.

There's no Wal-Mart around here, so I usually get all my stuff online or look for special deals at the local FFLs.

You might also check out ammoman.com. Their prices are usually a few bucks higher, but they give you free shipping. It usually comes out a few bucks in your favor.

Why do you have to be home to receive the package? Are you in a state that requires it? The UPS guy left a box of ammo for me on my front porch just this morning, ORM-D "Cartridges, Small Arms" sticker and all. They have usually been pretty good to me with delivery instructions, so if you want it left in a particular place, they'll usually do it.

I shoot at a Winchester owned range. So it's either Winchester or reloads. There they charge $9 for 9mm and $2 for .22s.

How good is Miwall?

Just about every site I looked at so far mention that someone will have to sign for it. I don't know if IL requires it or not.

How cheap do you need for 9MM ammo?

My favorite commercial reloader, National Bullet Company of Eastlake, OH has 124-Gr FMJ 9MM for $109/1,000.

Less if you send your empties for reloading... $89/1,000

p.s. Not affilliated with National Bullet in any way, but I am a very satisfied customer

Well if I could get it around $4 something including S/H, I would be happy. It cost me around $3 to load a box of 50 rounds.

Some online ammo stores require an adult signature, thats why he needs to be home.

I think I will stick to Walmart and maybe a gunshow now and then. I think it is silly that remanufactered ammo cost just as much as factory.

Think surplus! :D (Although I confess I have more WWB than I have surplus.) And don't stop reloading. You'll have all that brass from your WWB to reload, and the surplus that is reloadable. (Not all is, unfortunately.)

Same problem with surplus. After shipping and handling I can still buy WWB cheaper at Walmart.
