I am looking to customize my mav 88,

I want to put on the following

18.5 inch barrel
heat Shield
Side saddle
and a tactical stock

Optional:
a flash light.

Can this be done? and if so can anyone reccomend a good product to put on it

Yeah most of that stuff is available at cheaperthandirt.com except the barrel you can get that at academy for roughly $100 but I suggest looking at pawn shops first they normally have 'em for cheaper

MOST parts that fit a Mossberg 500 will bolt directly on the Maverick 88.

So, accesories ARE readily available. I have installed the 18-1/2" cylinder bore barrel, and one of those elastic-sleeve "butt cuffs" on my Maverick 88.

the front pump grip wont fit, the action bars are different, but you get the 500 action bars too then you can put the 500 pump grip on the 88. Other than that it is the perfect platform for the price.

code3gt, thats EXACTLY how I want my mav 88 to look...
Is all that stuff able to be put on a mav 88?

Haha you even have the pistol i want, but im not 21 so i cant buy that yet 2 more years

sweet, haha I may end up putting way more money into accessories for my mav 88 then i paid for the actual gun itself that bad?

Here's my old Mav and what I did for about 20 bucks.

Cut the barrel down to 18.5 and popped a new sight up front. Cut 1 inch from the butt a reattached the pad. Attached a strap on the forarm grip and cut a sling to size to hold some extra slugs. I shoot it the way it's picture with a full load of ammo. I take it to the indoor range and shoot alot of slugs and 00 buck.

The slugs are a hoot to shoot.

sweet ideas guys, yall have anymore??

Ill have about $400 to customize this gun with

Knoxx Stock $125
18.5" Barrel $70
Maybe a
Flashlight $30-80
Heatshield $20
Anything more would be borderline mall ninja , spend the rest on practice.

I would say forget the heat shield, they are minimally useful and most of the lower priced ones are just junky. I've tried them, take my word for it. Like someone else said, go with the simple elastic butt cuff that goes on the stock. They hold 5 shells and are like 4 dollars from walmart or academy. The flashlight will be pretty expensive if you want to do it right, so I would consider it last. The barrel will not be cheap either, but I bet you can find one at a pawn shop or online auction for a decent price. That, or simply cut down the long barrel that you already have, but make sure you do it right (and legally). I started my first shotgun off with lots of 'tactical' goodies but realized pretty quick that its more efficient in its standard form.

I'd heartily reccomend one of these pistol gripped stock sets. They give you more control over the gun, in my opinion.
This is the stock mine has on it right now....

thanks, yeah I want the gun to still be effective, I have been trying to decide which stock i do want, i like that Fully Molded stock you posted lloydkristmas, I have one of those elastic shell cuffs on my standard stock right now and that would work on that one too, Idk about cutting down my barrel though Id rather dish out money for a pre made one, I want to have both incase i do decide to use it as a hunting shotgun
