Trying to figure that out....
I am just wondering if someone could point me to a website that has case dimension for cartridges.... trying to see if I can modify an M1 carbine to another caliber, and am trying to figure out if I need to machine a new bolt or if the current one can be used.

For what it is worth, trying to see if I can modify it to shoot the 5.7 FN round... only doing on CAD now, so I don't just ruin a good gun....

The 5.7 Johnson Spitfire was designed for the 30 carbine - using the same case of course. I can't figure out why that cartridge is so low on the popularity stakes. It is slightly more powerful than the k-hornet, the same size as the hornet for all intents and purposes, a stronger case than the hornet and plenty of brass to form cases from. Not that I have a problem with the hornet - my favourite cartridge!
