So i'm in the market for an IWB holster and was looking for some links to places. I've got in my mind that I want to switch out from pocket carry to IWB since i've got this bug to start carrying an automatic. Chances are it will either be a M92, P226, or 80 series Officer's Model.

So where are some good suggestions to look? Thanks fellas! :)

Go to FIST. Look at their ultra-thin kydex IWBs. You can get one with a slight cant if you want. I have six of them I think and these holsters are the first accessory I buy whenever I purchase a gun.

I have a milt sparks VM2 in which I carry a .45 in officer's model size and I love it. If you cannot order directly from the milt sparks website, check out lightning arms sports (lightningarms.com). Sometimes they have some of the milt sparks products in stock.

Milt Sparks Vera Max II has the has the highest ratings!

I had a Glock 26 for several years and now own a Glock 23. I do carry concealed and for years tried to find out the best (for me) method of carrying a gun concealed, most natural draw and somewhat comfortable. I tried the shoulder holster, fanny pack, the outside the waist, the cheep off the shelf holsters, one plastic IWB and I do have the Galco holster you are talking about. I have sold or given away most of those holsters and will be looking to sale the Galco holster if you read my meaning. You can look a rigrate.com for input and ratings of holsters also.

After going through all these different types of holsters; for concealed carry I totally recommend the line of Milt Sparks Holsters and for concealed the Milt Sparks Vera Max II. Cost around $100.00 to $125.00. No holster is God’s gift to mankind, but I can wear this holster for 12 hours and still feel comfortable. The Milt Sparks VM-II has received some of the highest ratings throughout the varies gun forums. It can be worn different ways.

Also, get a good quality gun belt. A holster and a good gun belt is a must. I had a costume made gun-holster belt made for me in Scio, Oregon. The name of the company is A.E Nelson Leather Company www.nelsonleather.com. I had a piece of spring steel sewn into belt to make it so it will not turn or twist. The total cost of the belt was approximately $50.00 including shipping. In addition, I have never seen any other hand crafted; top quality belt offered for such a good price anywhere.

I know I just posted this reply yesterday but I hope ths helps

Chuck

The only thing I'd add to the preceding post is that by virtue of the offset loops, the excellent Versa-Max is also the thinnest IWB on the market that will stay fully open with the gun withdrawn. It is IMO the best IWB made anywhere by anyone.

I ordered a Milt Sparks SS2 from Lighting Arms 2 days ago and it arrived today. Excellent customer service and great selection. Check them out.

Milt Sparks holsters are great.

But, they do have LONG wait times. I recently ordered another VM2 for a new gun and I was told it would be about 18 weeks.

Holsters by Eric has already been recommended a bit above. I don't have one of his holsters (yet!) but everyone who does seems quite happy. I had to mention him since he is a member here and quite a stand up guy.

I have a holster from High Noon Holsters for my Taurus PT140 M. Pro. They seem to be pretty nice holsters. You have the option of a custom made holster or a few that he stocks (the stocked holsters are priced well and are delivered fast).

I never have aquired a taste for IWB. Way too uncomfortable. I've had some of the best too -- Sparks, Brommeland, etc.

Every time I wear one it feels like I have a can of Pepsi between my waist and my pants.

It also depends on what type of gun and belt you're using. A fat gun such as a USP with a soft belt can make IWB carry quite uncomfortable.

What kinda gun, are you carrying?

Milt Sparks

Go with the VM2 in horsehide. Once you try it, you will wonder what took so long. Horsehide is more durable and resistant to sweat than cowhide and will outlast you by several decades. I have 3 differant VM2's for differant pistols, and all I can say is it's the only brand I'll ever buy again.

as Black Magic noted, " It also depends on what type of gun and belt you're using. A fat gun such as a USP with a soft belt can make IWB carry quite uncomfortable" it takes a good belt, too. I was carrying with a cheap belt, and miserable. Once I stepped up to a true gunbelt (sparks or alessi in my case) it makes a huge difference.
