I am looking for a good medium to low ride holster for cold weather use, easy to conceal with a jacket. I am a thin build and all high ride holsters put the butt of the gun in my side hard. Any input would be appreciated.

Have you tried a Fobus paddle holster? They ride with the trigger guard at the belt, and certainly don't pull the butt of the gun into you. They are also inexpensive.

Milt Sparks has some nice OWB rigs that work. Call them. They will actually spend time with you on the telephone to discuss your needs and steer you in the right direction. They are great guys. So are others, like RafterS, which offer good quality at very, very competitive prices.

By the way, for carry use, I'd never, ever use Fobus. Its cheap plastic, not even Kydex, and they literally pop and break at the rivets. Range use, its fine. But I'd never use it for carry.

Hey Bullfrog

Have any way to tell for sure if it's plastic or kydex, aside from just taking the manuf' word for it? I mean, can you tell just by feeling it?

Apparently Grandfather Oak has just recently started making all of their (what once were) plastic holsters out of kydex. Someone there told me this in an email. Though the prices have stayed the same (hows that for a consumer complaint- only $18?! That's too cheap!). I'm not sure I'd be able to tell.
