Looking for new info. K-frame cracking?

I just picked up a K frame in pretty good shape, traded my Virginian Dragoon 44 mag. Probably came out on the short end but it’s a heck of a lot more comfortable for packing around in the mountains.
Iirc I paid under $500 for the 44 a few years ago

Styx,

I will have to disagree with you on the difference between the model 19 and the L-frames being insignificant. I used to carry both of them. I was issued a model 13 and bought a 681 (fixed sight, stainless steel L-frame) to carry instead. The 681 had it all over the model 13 when shooting qualifications, but I really noticed the difference of how much heavier and bulkier the 681 was. If it does not effect you, then fine, but I would advise anyone planning to carry an L-frame or GP-100 concealed to try one out first if you can.
They are too me, heavier and bulkier than mid-size guns like the the K-frame S&W'S or RUGER Security Six.
My issue gun is a semi-auto, so I usually carry a pistol, but if I wanted to carry and have on occasion, carried a concealed revolver, it would be a 4 inch S&W model 15 or RUGER Security Six.

I still have the 681 and it is an excellent shooter. I have had it MAGNA PORTED, swapped the wooden grips for rubber HOGUE'S and had the trigger smoother and cut for double action only. It was a fine uniform gun, but a bit to much for concealed use.

Jim
