The standard rule...

Chevelle 427--is that "You get what you pay for." It seems to be even more true for optics than for items in general.

This is a high-magnification, large-objective, low-price 'scope. No experience with Osprey Int'l, but never having heard that Osprey has invented some new, special, way to cut expenses w/o cutting quality, I would steer clear of ANY 'scope in the 10-40x50 range, at that kind of $$.

Somebody is going to respond that they have a big Osprey, and it is clear as a bell and never given them any trouble, and used on a .338 Lapua Magnum, and cost them $200. If that were the general rule, how come serious long-range target shooters, snipers, and others who make their living depending on the glass on their rifles, will pay 10x that much for a 'scope?

Now, eighty bucks isn't much, and if you won't be hurt by losing, and want to risk that amount, well, go ahead. But if you take that 'scope hunting, well, let's just say, Bring A Backup!!!

thanks Joe

i have only found 5 feedback on line and all were good but then again would the selling site put bad feedback up also.

found a used one sold on EBAY for $140,

site says there rated for a 50bmg,

10x40 is a bit much for what im able to shoot at but the price got my attention.

i have had a Simmons 6x18x40 on my 270 for years , it is OK stays on site , just hard to find the target with 6 as the lowest setting.

up side is , at the range i don't have to get my spotting scope out to see the holes in the target or walk 200yd just for a look see.

gun forms are great for this kind of questions, can save a lot of money sometimes

this is the same on a few forms i thank all that has gave input on this ,
this is what makes gun forms good, you learn from others.

found 6 neg on this scope all had to be sent back and they bought them new @ $200

I bought one about 3 or 4 months ago and have had no problems whatsoever. The scope is a little blurry at either extreme. 10x or 40x is not as clear but somewhere in the middle, I would compare it to a Nikon or Redfield clarity. I think it's a great scope for the money. Funny how people want the world for nothing. It is what it is. A solid scope for the money you pay but of course don't compare it to a top of the line scope, not fair. I have it on my Tikka T3 .308 and zero has held solid thru about 200 rounds so far. And some of the other forums don't know what they are talking about. This is not a chinese product. All parts are American parts but assembled in China. A big difference. I would say if you don't want to throw several hundred dollars for a Zeiss or Leupold, then this is a great option.
