Looking to get first Black powder Revolver

Well gentlemen, about to hit the Seattle roads and drive intoxicated people around in my prius…. off to work I go. a 1851, 1860, & 1862 is not going to pay for itself. Wish my Luck! and yes I will be carrying

I got no problems carrying big boys on my belt!

Last year, I regularly carried a CZ Shadow 2 with Reddot and weapons light …. inside the waistband!

A CZ Shadow 2 :rofl::rofl::rofl: What's that, about 2 1/4 lbs? A Walker weighs 4 1/2 pounds without the red dot and light. :rofl:

My first BP revolver (many years ago), was a Navy Arms NMA for the low, every day price of $79! Had it for a few years but eventually had to sell it to pay for school. Fast forward quite a few years and I decided to get back into the black powder game and got a Pietta NMN along with a Howell Cartridge Conversion Cylinder for Christmas, courtesy of Santa's Lil' Helper, aka my wife! The next year she got me a Pietta Colt Model 1860 and the year after that a Pietta NMA (the fancy one with all of the engraving on it and the faux ivory grips), and another conversion cylinder for it! All three guns are very well made and have great overall fit and finish.

Both the guns and the cartridge cylinders for them are first rate and go together perfectly. This set-up also allows me to take my black powder revolvers with me to shoot them at the indoor range as black powder is not allowed to be used in there. The Howell cylinder gives me the best of both worlds!

I got a brasser 1851 historically incorrect 44 for my reenetry into BP, fun but weak with the brass frame.

That one was reworked by Outlaw Kid.
Then came the 1860, reworked by the excellent Jackrabbit1957 here, and if you need BP revolver work done, I recommend him highly;

1860 on the line smaller.jpg

But the nicest is my Uberti New Model Army, wonderful fun gun. Jackrabbit1957 had a chance to look at it and said it was the nicest example he'd seen in some time, needing no work.

I like it. For a "carry-it-a-lot", but "not-shot-very-often" I think that would be a cool gun. Shure like the look of the brass frames, especially when they darken up with age and use.

Thanks for the mention Armoredman! Really appreciate it. Now we need to get Mark to pull the trigger on those Walkers and send them to me to get fixed abd tuned!
Your my official BP black smith! walkers really that heavy? maybe you can put some lighten cut on it!

Now if they would produce one with a titanium cylinder, and a aluminum barrel with stainless steel (or regular steel) barrel-sleeve...that might lighten it up a bit. Just a thought. I'm pretty sure Pietta and Uberti would be interested in doing that. Imagine the cost!

But seriously, bob the barrel to 5.5-6". !!!

Nope, you gotta go big or go home. Walker's are big and heavy, close to 5 pounds. If you can handle them and shoot them well your man card gets validated. I have a pair of them myself, I only carry one at a time. I have shot a jackrabbit or 2 with one. Results are spectacular.

If I still had a hoss, I'd have a pair in pommel holsters for sure. I do still ride a dirt-bike though....
