I just bought a NIB GP100 and the pin that runs through the topstrap and holds the rear sight in place is loose. Either the pin is too small or the hole was drilled too large. I fired 50 rounds over the weekend and the pin walked itself out at least an 1/8 of an inch but easily went back in when I pushed on it with my finger. What's the best way to fix?

Thanks.

Take it to the dealer who sold it to you. If they can replace the pin fine or get one from Ruger. It should not warrant sending the gun back to Ruger unless they have no one competent enough to do a pin replacement.

The pin appears to be undersized and should be replaced not just glued into the gun.

Easy fix

What's the best way to fix it?

The easiest fix is to put the one end of the pin on an anvil , put a small diameter flatnose punch on about the last 1/16" or so and smack it with a hammer, slightly flattening the end section of the pin such that when you look at the pin end on it is oval instead of round. Put the pin back in, unaltered end first. Push the pin in with thumb pressure. When you get to the widened part, you will have to tap(drive) it home with a hammer.

Make sure you anchor the pin with your third hand or other device when you are flattening the tip. It will want to fly away if it isn't anchored somehow.
