After hearing about the turnaround time and potential customer service problems with Springfield Armory, I want to look into getting some work done on my 1911 and CZ-75B locally. Probably something in the way of a trigger job and fixing reliability issues.

Has anyone had any work done on your guns in the Los Angeles area? Where did you go and were you satisfied with the work?

FWIW, here is the info on Bain and Davis from my phone book:

Bain & Davis Gun Shop
307 E Valley Blvd (between San Gabriel Blvd and Del Mar Blvd)
San Gabriel, CA
(626) 573-4241
(323) 283-7449
www.bainanddavis.com
Tues. - Fri. 9AM - 6PM
Sat. 9AM - 5PM
Closed Sun. & Mon.

I haven't used them yet, but they have been recommended to me by a few people (though I was a bit surprised someone in Alaska knew about them

;) ). HTH.

Yes Bain n Davis is still there.Their work is top notch but it will take months. As far as 1911s there is also [www.kingsgunworks.com],top notch work and a little faster than B&D.

Also for the 1911, Jim Hoag still has a shop in Canoga Park. On Canoga Ave. north of Roscoe. (818) 998-1510

Alan Tanaka is another good 1911 smith. His shop is on Hobart Blvd. in Gardena. (310) 327-2721
