I was laughing at you guys until I remembered that a few weeks ago I built some heavy duty shelves in my storeroom to hold 50 caliber ammo cans. While I was moving my stuff I found one ammo can full of 30-06 brass that was stacked in there and another full of 38 special brass.

I got all excited by everyone's good luck and decided to check the back of one of my ammo shelves. All I found was three boxes of .380.....especially disappointing when I remembered that I don't have a .380 pistol.
Trade it for something you do need. Ought to be worth a couple of bricks of .22

I found a byob (bring your own bucket) of federal 22lr copper washed on a shelf with my deer hunting fannie pack/supplies. Dont remember buying it but its 1100 rounds and will feed my buckmark and marlin model 60 for some plinking fun!

Some of you guys doing spend enough time in your gun room.
Mine is in the process of being completely organized and all the empty cases loaded.

A few weeks ago I "found" a couple of thousand rounds of .357 SIG that I packed away after selling my P226 to a friend (and regretting it ever since) a long time ago, then I moved to my new house. I had no launching platforms for the ammo and since barrels and guns are cheaper than ammo I bought .357 SIG barrels for my Beretta X performance (already had a .30 Brig DAO upper converted) my 1911 and a whole SIG P229.

OMG, that was hilarious!I just about drown reading this while taking a drink of water.

Cleaning out a box in my basement last week, and found 5 boxes of 44 mag reloads from probably 10 years ago. I sold the pistol around that time. I guess I could pull the bullets and use them in my 44 special. There was also a plastic sandwich bag in the box with 8 357 mag cartridges in it. I have no idea why.

One time looking in a gun box in the garage a huge flying roach appeared and sent straight for my face. Horrible.

I found two 50 round boxes of 180gr Federal HST .40S&W and a 100 round box of 230gr ball .45 ACP a couple days ago. It was in a crate of ammo that I thought I'd already gone through. Cool find since I just bought an HK P30 in .40 right before Xmas! I don't have a .45 ACP anymore but I have a few hundred rounds, probably will trade to a buddy for some .40 ammo.

Reminds me of setting up for Christmas this past year..About 10yrs + ago, I had a case of AR and 20 Glock 33rd mags vanish..I searched high and low to no avail.
Beginning of December I found a large box stuffed in old Christmas things we don't use any more. Low and behold, it was the missing the box.. Oh happy day.

Sounds like Nat'l Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

Not ammo, but I was stashing some AR mags and found a new in package Spikes Tactical stripped M4 upper. I don’t remember even buying it. I’m going to give it to a friend who is starting his first build.

I did the same. I found 20 rds of Remington .303 British and a 5 rd box of .410 slugs. I have neither of those guns anymore. :(

Had a friend that wanted some 25 acp. I knew I had it but not sure where it was. Found the 25 but also 800 rounds of 22 long rifle. I wonder what else is hiding?
It seems this shortage has us digging and finding stuff we never knew we had. I am finding ammunition I had long forgotten as well as lead cast bullets. My wife calls it my treasure hunting when I go digging through old stuff.:)

Yep found some virgin winchester 38spl brass Sunday. It is a treasure hunt. I guess a lot of us who have been reloading and shooting for a long time bought stuff and put it away and just never got to it.

It's kind of exciting, truth be told!:D I guess I don't sell a lot of guns but I'm not opposed to it. Often if I know I'm getting rid of something I'll shoot up the ammo. For example, when I sold my last .45 ACP and my last .40 S&W it was with the expressed notion of consolidating down to just 9mm for stockpiling/logistics reasons. I thought I shot up all the ammo but I guess I missed a crate or two. It worked out well since I now have a use for the .40 ammo! And my buddy got caught flat-footed with a lack of .45 ACP so I'll swap it for some bulk .40 stuff. My next gun purchase will probably be an EFK conversion barrel for my P30 to convert it to 9mm. I'll use the .40 barrel for woods carry but for everything else I prefer 9mm.

I have gotta say, this year is the 1st time I have counted stock. Told my kids to hold off on dumb spending!

I just made this list. I found 200 40s&w, 150 9mm, and 825 rounds of 22lr.
My old range bag was hidden in a closet I don't go in.
