Hello all! I'd like to buy a Benelli Semi-Auto or a semi-auto with the Benelli inertia drive system. My budget is only $600 so I recognize my options are limited. I've found two guns locally for sale that meet my requirements and fit within my budget: an older Benelli M121 and a Beretta 1201FP.

I saw a lot of favorable comments about both guns, though people really seem to like the M121. I saw a post that indicated parts are not easy to come by for the M121, but at the same time, the 1201fp hasn't been made in a decade or so either.

Any thoughts on which one is "better" or suggestions on which one to go with?

Thanks!

I've had 2 FP1201s, one a field gun with 28" barrels and the other a tactical with a shorter barrel. Both were flawless in reliability. Both were also very light guns and the Inertia Recoil system really kicks hard.

I've had no problems with my 1201fp and I have used it for thousands of rounds of practice and in training classes. Have only fired 00, 000 and slugs regular and reduced recoil.

People say it kicks hard, but I have always liked the felt recoil of my 1201fp over my heavier Remmy 870 Marine Magnum.
