Thats more than most. I guess people in the military and police forces may get more training in a year but I would definately not call you just a "casual shooter."

I will agree that those rifles that won't get through 1200 rounds without major issues are probably crap. All I know is the rifle I own has and can do it without problems and it is not that expensive of a rifle. I just take care of it and perform preventative maintenance so I know that when I go out it will work just fine.

Now, I have owned a DPMS bull barrel upper that I sold after just 200 rounds through it because it was a piece of junk. It functioned okay but I couldn't find a load that shot as well as any load from my RRA chrome lined. The barrel may have just needed to be broken in but after 200 rounds I was done wasting ammo on it.

I own a 6.5 Grendel from Double Star that has been my most reliable AR rifle yet. (After I tightened down the gas block) ;). It was also the cheapest.
