I recently came across a Lyman-imported 1860 Army clone with quite a bit of wear, but priced to reflect that, so I decided to take it on as a bit of a project. After looking it over, doing some research, and asking around, I've found that Lyman did have their 1860 replicas produced by Armi San Paolo, and possibly also Uberti(?), but mine seems to be an A.S.P. based on the mark under the barrel.
One thing this revolver needed was nipples, so I didn't have a way to measure the old ones, and couldn't find much info. on what dimensions the originals would have used. I was able to figure out that the threads are 6-.75mm Metric threads like a Pietta, but the Pietta nipples are a bit too long to fit, and so are the replacements I ordered based on the info. I had available. Rather than hoping that either EuroArms, or some of the "old European"-size nipples listed in a few places are correct, I was hoping that someone here might have the dimensions of the originals, if not a link to some replacements!
Thanks in advance.
