Lyman case trimmer trouble

My trimmer chuck keeps falling apart. I took it apart, cleaned & oiled the bits, but the detent ball and cams keep falling out and I can’t seem to locate a new chuck head assembly or parts online. I feel like I shouldn’t need to replace the whole trimmer. Are parts no longer available? Are there other options?

Thanks, I’ll try calling them. I have the manual and part numbers, the manual lists a complete chuck head assembly but oddly, it’s not on the website.

My Lyman trimmer is around 40 years old. Did replace the cutter head with another steel one.

The rate of feed should not be forced or the case head will spin in the jaws. Lube* the cutter head with Break Free CLP. 3 Drops of CLP ON a tooth brush is used to brush the brass chips off the cutter head, every cut.

Never had mine apart. Tried to adjust the case holder so the case mouth was cut square. Got it close enough.

That's very strange. I have a gray model from the 1970's and it's still going strong.

@igotta40 Sorry to hear about this. How long have you had it for?
I bought it pre-owned from a gent who was selling off his gear. No idea how old it is. It had been running fine until the ball fell out, and I noticed a lot of wiggle in the cams, but none of the parts appeared worn out.

Thanks for the link. I have spare pilots & cutter heads.

My large Lyman tumbler quit working after 6 months. I called them and they said send in proof of having it for only 6 months and they would send me a new base unit. The gentleman I spoke with said if I have had it much longer he would have to go to his boss to see what to do. Just got the approval for the replacement to be sent this Thursday. It was last Thursday I called, so a week to replace it. I have no complaints.
