If any of you kind folks would have the Lyman 49th, I would greatly appreciate a PM with the 45-70 sections if possible.
I have the 50th and 51st and have found pdf’s of the 48th, but cannot find a pdf of the 49th without subscribing to certain sites.
I am specifically looking for the Unique, or similar, powder loading data for use of sub loads in a 1895 RugerMarlin…
Any data will be appreciated if given.
Thanks to all who may respond.

ETA:
A 405 gr coated bullet will be the one in use…

I don't see any 45-70 loads using Unique or similar in the Lyman 49th Edition manual. IMR4198 / Rx7 are about the fastest powder choices they list for the 45-70.
I appreciate you looking, I may have misled myself into thinking the 49th would have that info.
The Cast #3 did have some info so I though the 49th would also....................that's what I get for thinking.

I looked in the Cast #4 book, the fastest powder listed for a 405 gr. bullet (Lyman 457193) is SR-4759. For the 1873 they go from 24 to 26.5 grains: 1258 fps, 12600 CUP to 1415 & 17700. For the 1895 they published 26.5/1429/19000 to 29.5/1577/25600.

The RCBS Cast Bullet Manual #1 has a couple of 45-70 507gr cast bullet loads using faster powders. Velocities from a 22" barrel.

Powder / Start gr. / Start Velocity / Max gr. / Max Velocity
2400 / 25.0gr / 1325fps / 27.0gr / 1441fps
IMR 4227 / 25.0gr / 1236fps / 27.0gr / 1342fps
