M44 was sighted at the factory with bayonet extended. With bayonet folded, it will shoot to the left. Simply move the front sight to compensate.

I just added an M38 to my 91/30, but am withholding judgement until I get an M44 to test along side the M38. Otherwise, I'm not being fair. But my M38 is beautiful. If we ever get good weather, I'll do a range report.

I suggest the M-38, as there weren't as many made and the supply of the decent ones seems to be drying up somewhat.
