Ok, so I started a thread the other day about the M&P vs. the PPS. I pretty much talked myself out of the PPS at this point. Now I have a gentleman offering his SIG 226 in .40 for my M&P. My M&P is brand new never fired. The gun came from the factory with Crimson Trace grips. The M&P with Crimson Trace grips runs around $800. I have shot another M&P and liked it. Felt great in my hand and was plenty accurate. I have never shot the 226 but have always wanted one. I have shot a 229 and a 220 and liked them. The SIG is slightly used, but like new. It is the two tone model. He is wanting to trade his gun and one extra mag for my gun with Crimson Trace grips and $100. Would you make this trade?? Why or why not. Thanks in advance for any help.

I found the 226 12 round .40 magazines a bear to load the last round in.

Other than that it was a good weapon.

Is it your only handgun, will you carry it, which M&P? Not enough info. If you paid $800 for your gun and he wants $100 more...$900 seems pretty steep for a used P226.

I would keep the M&P.
I just can't see myself trading a perfectly good new handgun, with warranty, for a questionable used handgun.

The balance of the trade is off, in my opinion. In other words he wants too much for his gun. Nothing wrong with the SIG 226 as I own one, and like it very much. IMHO he should be giving you the $100+ toward adding a crimison trace to the SIG, should you want to make the deal. LM

Hmmm?Well seems silly to get rid of a pistol you are comfortable with.I am a Sig fan myself and have not liked the S&W semi's since they went to plastics (yes I am one of those LOL)
The S&W 3rd gens with stainless frames I love.Sig's are brilliant..But I also have to agree that much for a used Sig is very steep.G&G sells Police trade ins of the Sig 226 for around 400.00 And they are in very good shape. They come with 2 mags and most have Sig lite Night sites..Also on a side note..Crimson trace makes good stuff and obviously they know it with their prices..Ouch!

The 226 is a big gun and would be heavy for carry. I prefer the Sigs over the M&P but if its for all day carry it wouldn't be my first choice.
