OK, took the new M&P 9 to the range today. Ran through 150 rounds of mixed JHP, WWB FMJ, and Federal FMJ. Not a hiccup among the lot. Recoil is extremely light, it's a super comfy pistol to fire. Accuracy was excellent, though I didn't do any bench testing - it's a defensive pistol, I am more interested in what I can do standing at defensive range. The target below is 10 head shots rapid fire at 7 yards. Really, I can't ask for more than that for a defense gun.

As for those who don't like the stock trigger, I just fail to see a thing wrong with it, so I'm writing it off to personal preference.

It's a great gun, congrats. I agree 100% about the trigger; I've got no complaints either. I put a Streamlight TLR-1 on mine as it sits at the ready in my bedroom (along with my Mossy 590A1).

The more you shoot it the better you'll like it.

Aahzz,

Congrats on the M & P, I just took the plunge and bought my first pistol in a long time. I went for the M & P 40 and I think that I'm going to like it a lot. I just know that I need a lot more practice. And fwiw, I think the trigger is fine, it could be a bit lighter though.
