Has anyone replaced the extractor on the M&P 9mm? If so does the pin come out from the bottom or top of the slide? On my CZ the pin is tapped out from the inside of the slide.

Yes.

The recommended way is to drive the pin out from the top of the slide to thru the bottom, and reverse for installation. The pin is placed with an hydraulic arbor press at the factory......it is VERY tight. Might want to allow some penetrating oil (Kroil, Liq Wrench etc) to sit for 30-60 minutes then, you will need to use a hardened "starter" punch to just get the pin moving an 1/8" or so, then finish the job with a 1/16" diameter pin punch. Make sure the slide is flat on a very hard surface so that your punch force is transmitted to the pin and not absorbed by a wooden bench for example.
When you replace the extractor pin, make sure it is at least flush / maybe slightly lower than the slide under surface.
