All,
I have an "old style" Marlin 1893 made in 1906. The extractor spring in broken, and it was repaired in the past with the addition of a wedge of pencil eraser. It is actually pretty ingenious, and made me laugh. It works OK.

I have located a replacement extractor, and can see the pin in the bolt used to retain the extractor. I would guess the pin is drifted out from the bottom of the bolt to the top. I am not sure if the pin is staked or tapered, and thought I'd ask the forum, before I try to drift it out.

I have attached a photo of the extractor (see #13). Anybody done one of these?

Thanks,
Chris
