M&P owners past and present. Why is the S&W M&P a bad pistol?

Wow defensory, troll much?

Seriously, I was comparing and out of the box XDM vs and out of the box M&P 9l or M&P pro. They'll match it on accuracy, and the triggers, although not as good as a proper trigger job, are better than the standard M&P. They aren't custom work. You can go to gunbroker, or budsgunshop.com or many locla gun stores and buy one. No trip to a gunsmith, no trip to the factory.

Custom work doesn't count because it costs more, but the XDM costing mroe doesn't count because it is out of the box. Well, hell then. THe XD-M DEFINITELY sucks then when you start bringing the $2000+ factory pistols into the picture. Lots of fancy 1911s and 2011s, and p210s and more truly exotic firearms lurk in the realm of price being no object. Me, I care about value. The M&P, M&P pro, and M&P L are all a good value. I figure in about 6-8 months, the XD-M will be too. But right now it has a premium attached.

They have match barrels, they have a reduced trigger reset as well, and they cost less than the XDM. They also have an extra inch of sight radius, which helps a lot with actually making use of the inherent accuracy of a firearm.

Personally I like choice. There is not one magically superior firearm. Most of the things you go on about are questions of ergonomics. Ergonomic superiority, other than being very configurable, is ALWAYS a matter of personal opinion. Even glock will learn that someday.

As for your sales numbers. You made the claim, it's your job to prove it. anecdotal evidence from a friend of a friend in the business doesn't count. Right now your claim boils down to because you said so. Which doesn't hold water with anyone.

As for getting to shoot and XD-M, I'm in NJ. In that case there is one round too many in each magazine for anyone to sell it here. Sucks, but it is the case until they get a 10 round SKU for it out. Like I said, the extra capacity isn't a desirable trait by everyone.

Geez Mountain Boy which of your children is the best? What's the best song ever written? What's the best meal?

I love my M&P but of late I'm closest to my 1911 commander and enjoying it the most. Neither will ever be forsaken.

I have both the M&P and the M&Pc and I can tell you I have a MAJOR complaint, and a reason that I hate them like you can't believe.

Reason i hate the M&P:
They eat up all my damned ammo!!!!

Since i got them, i can't seem to hold on to ammo for more than a few weeks at a time if that long!!! They have a voracious appetite.

Other than that, they are my favorite semi-autos.

Babalou, I only have one child, I am partial to our National anthem, and it's hard to beat a good ol cheesburger with a chocolate shake. I get your point, and have decided that the M&P is fine and have overcame my hankering for a H&K. Now If I can just get over my current desire for the Beretta M91A.

Same reason here as others have posted: I now own three of the *^&%* things and I'm hoping I'm able to stop at that number ... for at least a little bit.

Remember, Smiths are offering a 2 mag rebate now,
I've always wondered why 'bribes' are needed to sell "quality" firearms.

I mean, if they wanted to make it attractive for purchase, why not bundle the extra mags with it?

I am not a big fan of "mail in rebates" ( of any kind ) and do not like getting on the marketing list when doing so ( where your info is sold for tenths of pennies to other marketing agencies ).

No bribe necessary, here, but if S&W wants to provide me with a free range bag, rebate cash and extra magazines, who am I to refuse. :)

Hardy rules.

again

the xd's do nothing for me. No offense to them either, they just don't do a thing for me.
