I recently had the Apex FSS kit installed on my new M&P CORE 9mm. I am having an issue with light primer strikes. I am averaging about 1 out of every 50 rounds. Has anyone else had this issue with Apex on an M&P pistol. If so, do you know what causes it or how to correct it.

Did you happen to also install a lighter recoil spring?

Just asking because that's a common modification done at the same time and if the recoil spring is too light it will not be able to overcome the striker spring 100% reliably and will result in the action not always completely closing. When you pull the trigger you'd get a light strike.

The lighter trigger spring was installed but not recoil spring. The kit comes with 2 trigger springs which you can choose from.

Did you shoot the pistol enough stock to determine it was reliable before installing the Apex kit? FWIW My CORE+FSS has been very reliable for 12,000+ rounds. 3 malfunctions, all feeding issues, one within the first few rounds, and 2 with young female shooters probably limp wristing. Zero light strikes.

No, I did not, I put the Apex FSS in after about 50 rounds. I thought I read somewhere where the loop on the trigger bar needing adjustment can cause this, I dunno.
