Happened to find one of these guys in the flesh and I couldn't resist. I like a reliable 22, especially in a common platform such as ARs and 1911s.
I'll start with the bad first:
It feels cheap. The charging handle is plastic, as is most of the upper.
No dust cover, not that it needs one but it's not truly a pure AR in my opinion.
Price. I've seen them from $475-500 + and the Tippmann .22 M4 pistols cost around the same and have aluminium uppers and can be modded with regular AR parts.
The Good:
Operates like any other AR
Trigger is excellent
Reliable with standard velocity and high velocity ammo, as reliable as the ammo fed into it.
Accurate. I put a cheap red dot on mine, but once I got it dialed in it has been very impressive.
Inexpensive mags - I got two more 25 rounders for $24/each.
Overall, it's a keeper. I think my Tippmann M4-22 Elite pistol is more authentic and uses better quality parts, but the M&P15-22 pistol shoots very well and is a great little AR pistol.
