I have a S&W M&P9. I actually have it listed for sale or trade but cant decide. I have a Glock 26 which is smaller than either. It carries well and is compact. It shoots within combat accuracy quite well and is argubly one of the greatest CCW on the market. My 26 just doesnt fell right. I cant complain though and find it easy. I purchased the M&P9 because I was curious and wow I really like. I like the interchangable back straps and the feel just fits. The full size is a little large to be carried in the appendix position but I dont feel that carrying it at 3-4 o clock position would be a problem with a little cant. I love the way it shoots. Its in awesome shape and I dont think I could replace it down the road. I guess my issue is its a little tall meaning it prints a little under a t shirt. I have considered the M&P9C. I figure it will feel the same but be a little shorter. I like the M&P triggers and they feel good in my hands. I think the compact is going to be the perfect size.

From your post it seems that you like everything about the M&P9 except the size.
So trading or selling it for a M&P9 compact makes a lot of sense.

You might also want to look at the Ruger SR9c.

Keep the full size.

Sell the Glock 26 - it doesn't fit you. Use the proceeds from the Glock to buy the M&P 9C - the size differences aren't that huge, and you'll like the 9C better.

I know from wearing the fullsize today. Its not comfortable aiwb. I don't think the 1/2 length difference between the compact and the 26 is gonna make much difference. what in the world would I do with all the mags, holsters and stuff?

Oh, and have to add - I am now carrying an M&P 9 Full Size, but I carry in a tactical man-purse during the warmer weather.

Mags and holsters sell too...sell the whole dang thing as a package.

Get the m&pc.

Personally I hate sub compacts but if it works for you it sounds like the better gun

+1 on this reply. Keep the full-size, sell the Glock and get an M&P 9c.

I too would sell the Glock and get the compact. Like you, I really like AIWB carry and do it most of the time. The only time I do not is typically when it is colder and I carry a full size 1911 at 4:00 with a jacket or vest. I love compacts and sub-compacts and they work great for appendix carry.

Keep in mind the 9c does not have the same grip as the full size. It may or may not fit you. I sense some apprehension about selling a proven ccw for a new unproven to you compact. My advice, sell the full size, buy the compact, run it through its paces then trade the Glock for a 9L in six months.

Before I bought one I thought "that's much more stylish than the diaper bag my wife makes me carry". Now when I see an old man with a fanny pack I give him a wide berth. They also make a handy carry-all during hunting season.

I voted other as well. It's clear that G26 doesn't fit your hand as well as the M&P 9 does. Try an M&P9c, and if that fits your hand, then sell the G26 to finance the M&P9c.

There is a little apprehension there. The 26 is reliable and with XS sights and a variety of holsters it will be hard to let go of. The fullsize got a little smaller as the day wore on. If the grip were only 1/2"-1" shorter it would be money.

Hard to argue with selling the 26. I have a 3913 for a proven smaller platform untill I could gain confidence.

No contest, the Glock 26 is the leader and S&W is playing catch up and follow the leader as usual under it's new management. Oh how I love my 5906, now that was the 9mm of it's time.

Keep the G26 and sell everything else. Buy lots of ammo and sharpen your skills with the G26.
