I have posted before on a similar subject but have a new comparison.....M&P9c or G26? The M&P has a cheaper price tag where I purchase my guns compared to the glock 26...BUT..the problem is that I have a G19 and am not sure if I should stray away from the glock compatibility.......should I spend the extra $$ on the glock...your thoughts?

Bought a m&p9c no mag safety last week. Shot it last weekend and loved it. Same controls as a glock but better feel. Also love the fact that s&w is giving away 2 extra mags free with every new m&p. Paid about 475 otd from buds.

Buds is the place to buy...Im a very satisfied customer of theirs...Im just not sure if I should go M&P because I can share mags from my 19 with the 26...

I have both and like both. Can't go wrong with either. Personally I like the M&P a little better. The grip is a little thinner, the trigger a little more solid feeling. Both shoot well and are reliable. If you already have a G19 then the M&P would give you a little variety.

Here's a thread I posted earlier with a comparison:

all4glock,

I'd say get the G-26. I just picked up a used one a week ago to go with big brother G-17. I like the magazine compatability, plus the identical operation. Just one less thing to worry about when transitioning from one to the other. It's pretty accurate too; I put 5 out of 5 on a silhouette target from 50 yards the first day I had it. (I was warmed up a little first though. ;) )

Some will tell you the magazine interchange issue is no big deal. Well, let me say, I do use the long mags in the short gun at the range. On my belt, it's the short sticks.

Oh, and I had some G-26 magazines just lying around from one I had before, so that might have swayed my decision.

In the world of sub-compacts and concealed carry, I think the g26 is ideal. I don't know exactly how thin the M&Pc is in the grip, but the slide is definitely thicker and heavier than the g26. It weighs more too. Overall, it's a bulkier gun.

g26 = concealed carry perfection. Can't go wrong with 10+1 in such a small and light package. I prefer the takedown of Glocks, and their trigger system. My only beef is the pinned in front sight..

If we were talking full-size guns here, then it's a toss-up. For sub-compact size I say g26.

Don't drink the Glock flavored koolaid!

Seriously don't be afraid to branch out and try different guns.

"should I stray away from Glock compatibility" sounds more to me like: Should I buy a gun that is not a Glock because it's different? If you like it then heck yeah. I can't imagine only being able to own Glocks.

Glock 26. IMHO the best 9mm pistols made are the Glock 17/19/26/34. Accurate, Reliable and Practically Indestructible.

I now prefer the M&P over the Glock.

Other than the fact that you can used G19 mags with the 26, the only reason to choose one over the other is because you like that one better. They are both about the same as far as quality, reliability and durability. Good luck (get both if you can)---Bill
