I have a situation and need help making an educated decision. I ordered 2 M1 Carbines from CMP and got them today. The info for both is below:
1. Inland barrel & inland receiver - Barrel 11-43 Gauge=3 SN:928227
2. Underwood barrel & inland receiver - Barrel 3-44 Gauge=3 SN:6397057
I viewed the barrels with my light and they look identical. The stock and metal are similar.
I have to get rid of one of them so says my wife. Which should I keep. I would think maybe the total Inland combination but the Underwood/Inland has a higher serial number and thus newer and maybe better condition. You cant tell though. If anyone has any input I sure would be appreciative. I hate to make this darn decision. sheesshhhh.
