Hi, Gents!

Okay, now that I have a confirmed order in for a CMP carbine... they don't come with mags nor does CMP sell them :banghead: like they never had any spares in the military....

Who sells mags at a decent price? I don't much care if they're aftermarket jobs, as long as they're reliable - I don't even care if they're just the 15 shot deal. I would like to buy a handful of reliable mags. Anybody found a good source of high quality mags at a decent price? And if any of you care to share experience with aftermarket jobs, good or bad, I'd appreciate it if you'd share your advice.

Thanks... as always.

I got some USGI 15-round mags from www.whatacountry.com and www.sportsmansguide.com. At both websites, you can buy a pair of good condition mags along with a USGI pouch for just $30. Both advertise that the mags may have rust, and the ones I received proved that to be the case. All of them had some superficial rust that was easily removed with cleaner and some 000 steel wool. Two had a bit of pitting that was harder to get at, but both cleaned up well with minimal permanent damage. Importantly, all the rust was limited to the outside of the mags. The interior, spring, and follower looked perfect. I have not had an opportunity to test them or my new CMP carbine, but I expect the mags to perform well, even if they don't look perfect. At least, though, the wear helps them match the carbine. :)
