I've noticed that the CMP is offering some M1 Carbine receivers. I'm thinking of building one up (or having Fulton Armory do it) for a shooter, and I see that CMP is offering some Plainfield and Universal receivers. Here's my question: are these receivers the same as the GI ones? I know that Universal had some non-spec stuff on theirs, but I don't know about the receivers, and I know almost nothing about the Plainfield carbines. Any help would be appreciated.
