as carbine prices go through the roof I'm entertaining thoughts of a plainfield (I have a rockola, so unless you know where I can get a usgi m1 for under 500 shipped and ffl'd please don't weigh in telling me to get a "real" m1. I have one. I want a shooter. one I can bubba.)
BUT the question is: how do you tell an early plainfield from a later model. I hear teh early plainfields are the best of the commercial guns. I want one with mostly usgi parts.
