For some reason unknown to me,,,,, my garand is ejecting the clip with 3 to 5 round still left in it. Anyone who knows garands well, I'd love to know what you think!
Thanks.

The "usual" is a worn out clip latch spring.
I'd start by replacing it.

However, a good test is to stretch the clip latch spring. This ruins the spring and it'll quickly loose tension, but you can determine if it is just the spring if the rifle stops premature ejection of the clip.

Repeat, stretching springs ruins them, They will only last a short time after this so replace it.

As already stated normally its the clip latch spring, next in line is a worn bullet guide lobe

mine's doing the same thing (1.4mil / 1942 springfield). if ya find a cure let me know. I've swapped clip latches, bullet guides, all new springs, even tried a new op rods....still kicks the clip after #6 and double feeds 7/8.

What brand Op Rod spring did you replace it with?
Is the rifle properly lubed with GREASE in the proper areas?

not sure. one of the guys I shoot with is our local garand guru (has all the tools, gauges, etc etc) and has been tinkering with mine.

it's out of time. regardless of parts changed, you can stuff a timing gauge as far as it'll go into the magazine, it will NOT trip the bolt release. if the gauge is bottomed out AND you start wiggling the op rod, it'll go (when we checked it, the lug not he op rod was @ .310'....RIGHT at minimum spec)....but swapping it with a known good (SA i think) op rod didn't fix it.

Take a bullet guide from a garand that works and try it.
You may have replaced worn parts with worn parts
Op Rod would not cause your issue

I would love to think that was it...But these weren't used parts. and an op rod COULD cause that (worn lug riding up in the rail in the receiver)

Well something has to be worn if you replaced all the parts and it still malfunctions
Worn tab cause premature ejecting is a new one on me. First time I have ever heard that
Still not convinced

What type clips are you using? Some clips are not formed right and the notches are not cut correct causing similar problems. Mostly it is the clip latch or spring though.

I agree. I had a similar issue despite replacing all parts. The gunsmith told me it was out of time.
