Does anyone make a scope mount for the M1 Garand that allows you to still use the iron sights for close up and offsets to the left so you can still use 8-round en-block clips?
Sure. The original supplier of the M1C & M1D scope mounts to the US military is still making them, Griffin & Howe. But be prepared to spend almost enough to buy another Garand, if you have them install it. Scope not included. http://www.griffinhowe.com/mountsandpads.cfm
Are you looking for a "no gunsmithing" mount that clamps to the barrel or do you plan to drill and tap the receiver? If the latter, I'd send it to someone with experience because M1 receivers are VERY hard. Plan on loosing quite a bit of resale value as well.
There's also repros of the less involved M1-D mount available, last time I saw it all was in numrich. Needs a new upper handguard and the barrel removed to heat and shrink the mount onto the barrel..........but check the Fulton Armory site - I THINK I noticed a newer type of mount that left the rear sight intact.
And there are 'Scout' scope mounts that replace the upper handguard.
