I will be picking up my first M1A soon and was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers on magazine selection. Like what to look for when buyin to make sure im buying good ones and not getting ripped off. And the most important what is a fair price. Any info you could give would be appreciated. BTW the rifle is a springfield standard M1A

+1. No4Mk1's answer is the only one you will ever need.

Yes, CMI is an excellent manufacturer. And that is a great price.

FYI those are the same mags Springfield Armory will sell you for $50. :)

Don't mess with anything else... the CMI mags are the best AND the best value.

Checkmate mags at 44mag. Best mags, best price you'll find on them. Little reason to try others.

IF you want to try others, the Korean made mags work well in my experience, and can be found as cheap as $10 each. Also the Taiwanese type 57 mags should be good and can be found for $15 or so. But be sure you have some CMI mags too. I would avoid anything currently made that isn't one of those listed above (or, like Springfield, one of those selling under a different brand). Promag M14 mags supposedly work, but are no cheaper than CMI, so why bother?
