Bassett Machine. Only $150. Do a search, and try to find more than one or two people who didn't like it; I don't believe you'll find more than one. They are great scope mounts.
I'm shooting (or more appropriately we are shooting) one hole groups with my M1a and a Bassett mount. I think it would be good for a DMR as well as a civilian rifle.
Sadlak, the only mount manufacture that offers a jig to check your receiver and well machine the mount to fit a out of spec receiver. The mount is available in aluminum, steel or titanium. It's a modified Brookfield Picatinny rail design, three contact points and you can r&r with out losing zero.
I am on the fence on this one also. On another Forum they rave about the Bassett. Anyone here with real life experince with it? I am inclined to setting up 2 of my M1A's with this mount over the ARMS mount but my gut has not got the warm fuzzies over it yet.
Anyone have any real life criticisms on the Bassett?
here is my experience with the Bassett mount. Mine is holding zero just fine installed according to instructions. You would have to drop it pretty hard to move it. and even then I believe as long as you had the torque tool with you it would be simple to regain zero.
If I had the dough and an armorer to install it I would go with the most expensive Sadlak on the market.
If I had enough dough to do another M1a I would get a standard synthetic and have the whole thing plus scope camo'ed
