M40 A1/ Schmitt & Bender SSDS

I am looking for a M40 A1 Sniper Rifle with a Schmitt & Bender SSDS. (Scout Snieper Day Scope). I am looking for the gun and the scope if sold seperately. Or I am looking for good custum gun makers. I would like the gun to come from the western US because I will drive to pick up. Thankyou. GOD BLESS ALL!

I support your right to buy anything you can afford; but are you a sniper? The kind of hardware you asked for will cost you in excess of $10,000.

You can get the scope from a Schmidt and Bender dealer, its the PMII. You can have a rifle built for you by G.A. Precision for about 3000 or 3500.

Your M40 would probably be built by Eric Reed USMC 2112. You can discuss the whole project and gets leads for glass or have them supply all (correct glass & mounts, etc).

If your into building an M40A1 why not stay with the correct scope, a Unertl 10x or the USO 10x. If your prefer the M40A3 then go with the S&B, to be model correct.

You can get the S&B "MTC" (More Tactile Click) 3-12x50mm for under $3000. It is the same as the USMC scope minus some markings.

zak, do you have an opinion on the mtc?

The MTC is identical to the DT CM PMII except the elevatoin knob has a "clunk" click every whole mil and it turns counter-clockwise instead of clockwise. I prefer the regular PMII because a CW-turning elevation knob is more logical and the "clunk" clicks are easy to overshoot.

Are you going for the classic old style rifle that was recently replaced? There is a company that is replicating the old style Redfield scope for the M40 rifle! Not sure what your looking for modern newer style rifle or the classic rifle! Remington was offering a replica rifle! Either way George will do you a good job! Good Luck!
