Where have I been? It seems like just yesterday when I purchased my Soviet M44 and Polish M44 for $69 each. Today I received an Aim advertisement in my email listing the M44 for $199. It seemed exorbitantly overpriced, so I checked out GunBroker to get an idea of what the going prices are and found some are selling for $300. Did this all just happen in the past few months?

Gee whiz, it seems when something dries up, it dries up fast.

My Yugo refurbed M 44 with mint bore shoots nice and tight grps at 100 yds. I remember it was only $100 to my door after said and done. It was in wax wrap and some kind of rope around it. It must had been in cosmo for the last sixty plus yrs.

I saw one at a gun show for 250, strange how fast they went up.

Yes, when it comes to military surplus, such things are plentiful until they're not. Another current example is Polish 7.62x25 ammunition that was selling for $90 some placed last a few months ago that are now selling for well over $200 for the same 1260 count tin.

I might just purchase another 1891 Mosin Nagant while they're still "plentiful".

I bought an M44 years ago for $49.00, and sold it for $100.00 a couple of years later. Interesting that if I'd waited, I'd have a gun worth even more now. :D
