Today I fired my m44 for the first time. I've only had it for 3 years so I guess it's about time. I don't remember exactly but I think the rounds are 230 grain. Either i'm getting old or thats way to much recoil for me. All I can say is WOW!!!!!! A man at the range let me fire his sporterized and scoped 91/30 with a lighter round and it was a pleasure to shoot. I only fired one round but I missed the bull by about an inch from 100 yards and I fully believe that was because of the flinch I developed from the first 5 rounds of mule kickers. I'm not a small guy by any means, 6 foot 200lbs. How does anyone shoot those heavy rounds? I can't imagine you get used to it.
