Widener's has some new M48 Yugo barrels for a pretty good price. I was thinking of picking one up to use as a spare for my M98 Mauser with a pretty rough bore.

I assume the thread dimensions are the same, but you know the old tale about assumptions. Are M48 and standard 98 Mauser barrels interchangeable?

If they are new, as mentioned in the ad, they are not a direct replacement for a M98, but can be used by facing off the chamber extension used on the Yugo's, then final fit with a chamber reamer. They likely do not have the extractor cut yet, as that is cut at the final fit on each Yugo action.
They are the same large ring diameter threads, (1.100") 12TPI and the only difference there, might be the length of the shank required.
It's hard to find new, quality barrels for that price, and they won't last long.
