I recently got a new M57 and note that the Serbs have adopted something like the 1911 firing pin stop on their version 9 shot version of the Tokarev along with some other improvements/changes. However, the firing pin stop does not come out as easy as all the 1911 stops I have manipulated over the years. Anybody know of a special way to remove the M57 firing pin stop so I can clean the cosmoline off the firing pin and spring?

Also, anybody know of source for extra M57 nine shot magazines?

I don't have mine in front of me but it seems the firing pin is a bummer to get out. You have to have a punch with a special shape on the end (like a cup I think).

The retaining pin looks like a screw but it is not. That end needs to be compressed inward (towards the center) while the pin is punched through. I probably wouldn't do it unless I had a new one to put back in.

Just soak the slide in brake cleaner and air it out with an air hose. Remember to wear your goggles please.
